Who we are ...
Irradian Ltd. is located in Tranent, a town in East Lothian, Scotland which lies approximately 10 miles (18km) east of Edinburgh and about a mile inland from the south shore of the Firth of Forth.
The company was incorporated in March 2009 following the liquidation of Macam Photometrics Ltd. (est. 1975) which ceased trading at the end of January 2009. At that time some of the employees bought the assets of the original company and determined to start out again in a new location, with a new name. Since then we have not looked back and have seen substantial growth in the years that have followed.
Irradian looks to serve the photonics industry by providing light measurement solutions in the form of either hand-held or desktop equipment and discrete detectors that selectively cover the range from uv to near infra-red (200-1100 nm). The company also offers an optical calibration service for both proprietary equipment and meters from numerous other manufacturers by maintaining a range of detectors, lamps and photodiodes that are routinely calibrated by the National Physical Laboratory.
